This is my Nintendo PC project. Origional idea from Tim Wasson. The goal is to build a PC inside of a nintendo case, for under $400. I first had to get an old Nintendo case. This was slightly harder than i thought, as i could not find mine, and most of the gaming stores i went to laughed at me. But i found a store willing to sell me a broken nintendo case for $5.40. My next part was to get the motherboard. I wanted to use an EPIA M 800 board, but Fry's Electronics was sold out. So i went for the only board they had that would fit. An EPIA M9000, which is 933 MHz, with a ram capicity of 1GB, for $159. At this point i started modding my NES case to allow the placement of the mother board. I had to cut the T out of the bottom, i then glued the T into the empty space and flattened it down even with the case. I then used the old screw pegs that i cut out earlier and cut them to about 1/8" to 1/16" as risers and screw holders for the motherboard. One problem i had was that the motherboard i used had almost no unused space. I had to cut off the reset button, and go to Radioshack and get a momentary contact button that would fit, yet would not get in the way of the IDE port and the Front panel conector jumpers. At this point i had no way of testing my motherboard. So i bought a "Cheater" powersupply from dc2dc.com. I chose this option because i could not find any standard power supplies that would fit. Plus this gave me more room for my case fans. I was origionally going to use a Laptop Hard drive, but decided to go with the 30GB 3.5" hd that i already had. Because of it's size i also decided to use windows 2000 pro, which natively supports large drives. I took a cpu cooling fan and attached it to the back of my case and cut out holes for it to blow out the hot air, and since i did not completely seal the rest of the bottom, cool air gets sucked in. I also used the front controller ports for my controller adapter, thus making it look more like a real Nintendo. Currently i am looking for a Nintedno based theme. Or pictures to create my own. Later i plan on trying to get an IR port on the front and see about getting a remote control to use for selecting the games, and controlling the Emulators.

Also notice the case fan.

I am working on a desktop theme for my NES PC. This is what i have so far. It includes the DesktopTheme program i used to make it. It's shareware. Anyone know of a desktop theme creator for Windows 2000?
